After the chilly winter season, the warm weather has inspired students to trade in their boots for flip flops. Matt Chatham-Tombs, a Nashville senior, said he bought a new bike just in time for spring.
"I've been riding the Riverwalk and picking up groceries on my bike," he said.
"I live downtown and it's great to be able to ride to school and work instead of driving a car," he said.
Chatham-Tombs said he normally jogs at the YMCA, but because the weather is getting warmer, he is ready to hit the streets.
"It seems like I've been waiting forever for spring," Chatham-Tombs said.
Hunter Lee, a Clarksville, Tenn., sophomore, said with the warmer weather, he has been studying outside.
"I've been trapped inside for so long, I try to get some fresh air any time that I can," Lee said. "Studying is much more pleasurable when you can feel the sun on your back and hear the birds chirping - much better than a library."
Lee said he plans to start rock climbing this summer and is ready to begin the learning process now that winter is over.
Anna Myers, a Dalton, Ga., sophomore, said she has been waiting all winter to play disc golf again.
"It's my favorite hobby and I feel so deprived," Myers said.
According to Myers, Chattanooga has a large population of disc golfers who feel the same way.
"The Sinks Disc Golf Course is one of the best I've been to and it's right here in Chattanooga," Myers said. "I'll be there every day.
