UTC basketball player Matt Gwynne served his one-game suspension from the team Monday against Appalachian St. due to his actions on the court in a previous game.
Gwynne, a 6-10 sophomore forward who is a key reserve for the Mocs, was whistled for a foul during the second half of the UTC's game against Davidson last week.
While he was not ejected, Southern Conference officials said afterwards they were going to look into the matter.
The play can be seen on the internet video Web site www.YouTube.com with the title "Davidson vs. UTC."
The video shows Gwynne elbow Davidson's Thomas Sander in the face as he was going to box out for the rebound.
Gwynne has averaged 6.6 points per game and 4.2 rebounds per game while playing 15.6 minutes per game over the course of the season, coming off the bench to help out the Mocs in the post.
Other players also missed the game, such as Khalil Hartwell, who tore his ACL in his left knee, and Keyron Sheard, who dislocated his collar bone.
