The Lady Mocs soccer team fell to 2-12-2 overall and 2-7-1 in the league after a devastating 8-0 loss to Furman in the regular season finale Thursday, Nov. 1.

Rachel Fry made the first goal of the night for Furman in the 28th minute, the beginning of Furman's assault on the Mocs. In the end, Furman out shot the Lady Mocs 32-4 and held a 20-0 edge in shots on goal.

Furman took a 2-0 halftime lead after midfielder Margaret Antonik beat UTC keeper Milla Junni top shelf. Furman did not relent in the second-half.

Katie Tucker and Sara El-Shami kicked in goals just 30 seconds apart at 49:27, before Fry kicked her second goal of the night and her tenth goal of the season at 53:39. Anna Betton then capitalized on the embarrassment of the Mocs with a steal from a defender and a 12-yard goal in the 77th minute. Betton leads the league with 13 goals this season.

After that, Furman's Olivia Dashiell made her third goal of the season at 82:30 and the final late own goal finished the score at 8-0.

Freshman goalkeeper Milla Junni, Hyvinkaa, Finland, notched 11 saves for the Lady Mocs, while Furman players Briana da Mota and Claire Richards split time in goal.

Previously, Davidson prevented any score by the Lady Mocs on Senior Day Sunday, Oct. 28. The Wildcats capped the score at 4-0, bringing their record to 12-4-1 overall and 7-1-1 in the Southern Conference.

Junni collided with another player as she tried to make a play on the ball; leaving the net open for a goal by Kristen Koerhn at 13:25. Davidson led the game 2-0 at half before adding another two goals by Kyri Bye-Nagel only two minutes apart.

The Wildcats out shot The Mocs 22-1 during the game, wrapping up The Lady Mocs soccer team's home season.
However, before the loss to Davidson, UTC managed to beat The Citadel with a 2-1 overtime victory.

Midfielder Sara Francescon, Nashville freshman, gained a 1-0 advantage for Chattanooga at 6:08 after a cross from sophomore forward Marlee Jenkins from Lenior City, Tenn.

Citadel then tied the game at 11:17, the last goal before the second overtime when sophomore forward Cassie Bowman, Carson City, Nev., connected for the winning goal.

Junni made four saves on the night for Chattanooga, contributing to the win. UTC has never lost to The Citadel. The win improved the Lady Mocs all-time record against The Citadel to 6-0-1.

The Lady Mocs entered the game against Citadel at 1-10-2.

The game followed a 3-0 loss to the College of Charleston, Oct. 21. However, they shut out Wofford 2-0 Oct. 19 in the SoCon.
