I'm not exactly a gardening expert, but I've always been told that it's not a good idea to water plants during the day.
So consider my surprise when, during the past couple of days, I see that the university has decided to use the new automatic sprinkling system during the day on the newly landscaped pedestrian corridor.
The Tennessee Valley is facing drought conditions, with nearby Orme, Tenn. only getting three hours a day of running water.
The spraying water during peak traffic hours also endangers the pants legs of students who are trying to get to class.
Perhaps Dr. Hill can instruct the office of development on the importance of nice-looking pants.
