President Lydia Grafton began by announcing more details on the community forum.

For clarification, the community forum was referred to as the homeless forum in previous meetings.

Grafton pointed out that it is primarily an informational meeting and not a debate. She hopes for a large student turnout because Mayor Ron Littlefield will be in attendance.

Vice President Bill Staley announced the activities planned for SGA week, Nov. 6 through Nov. 10.

Nov. 7 will be an open house meeting for all students who are interested in joining SGA. Freshmen are urged to attend SGA's open house, as well as Freshman Senate's open house which will be Nov. 8. At 7 p.m., the Entertainment Committee will be hosting a movie night. Currently, "Higher Learning" is planned to be shown in the UC auditorium.

The final SGA week event will be a grilling on Friday, Nov. 10. The time and place for this event was not announced at this meeting.

Wednesday, Nov. 8 and Thursday, Nov. 9 are the days to vote for SGA senators.

Senator Jonathan Adewuya announced that the Lupton Library will be open 24 hours a day for finals week.

He also said it is important students carry their student ID with them if they plan on being in the library after normal hours.

Senator Keeton Christian stated one of the sidewalks will be opened Friday, Nov. 3.

This is the first sidewalk to be opened since the beginning of the construction. Over the next few weeks more areas will be opened and all sidewalks should be usable by December. A majority of the new trees are scheduled to be planted in late December.

Parliamentarian Eric Fox announced that KKINSO, the Krimson Kourt Incorporated National Service Organization, did not successfully pass through committee and shall not become an official UTC student organization.

Because of some of the questions raised during KKINSO's re-visit to the committee, a new amendment was made to SGA's constitution. It stated that SGA approves organizations based on their constitution and has the right to revoke the official status of organizations if they do not follow the guidelines of their own constitution, or if they spend SGA-provided funds for something outside the scope of that organization's purpose.

SGA does not have the resources to police all campus organizations, so Fox said he hopes that all students and faculty will help by reporting any misbehavior to him so that it can be discussed and dealt with appropriately.
