061987 - A security officer responded to an apartment for a routine fire alarm. It was determined by the officer that the cause for the smoke alarm was marijuana being smoked in bedroom B. UTC police responded to investigate the offense. Once inside the room, there was a strong odor of burning marijuana inside bedroom B. The residents were inside the bedroom and admitted to smoking marijuana. Police got verbal consent from one of the suspects to search her room and found three small "blunts" which had the appearance and odor of marijuana in a makeshift ashtray. Also, on the bedside table police found a candle holder with four orange capsules identified as Adderall XR. Adderall XR is a drug for ADHD medication, and it is known to be a strong stimulant in those not requiring a prescription for ADHD. Also, bottles of alcohol were found in the freezer, but the exact owners are unknown. The two students are being sent to the dean of student development in lieu if physical arrest.

061996 - Police responded to a suicide attempt at 818 University St. apartments. The suspect sliced her wrist with a small pair of paper scissors with blue handles. The cut appeared to be one inch long and a quarter-inch wide. According to police report, the bleeding was not that bad. The suspect told police that she and her mother had gotten into a fight over the suspect's boyfriend. The mother had told the suspect to break up with him. The suspect told police that she just had too much pressure on her from her parents and that she really didn't know she had cut herself until the bleeding had started running down her hand. The suspect was taken to Memorial Hospital.
