Dear editor:

I've been a student at UTC for almost for years, and the employees here have always been more then nice to me. That is, up until this semester. There have been at least four or five instances in Subway where I have felt like I was treated very unfairly. I had heard stories from my co-workers in undergraduate admissions, but hadn't experienced it until recently.

The women working in the Subway line have made rude comments, and the cashier has even gone as far as to tell me that I need to pay more attention and get out of the way. Last week, I was reprimanded for walking somewhere that I didn't know was off-limits to me.

Even after apologizing numerous times, this woman, a manager I believe, kept telling me that it frightened her when people walked back there. I thought, "Well, if I am going to be treated like a thief, then why should I come here at all?" And come to find out, a lot of people around me are having the same feelings. I just wanted Subway and everyone else working for food services, that they are losing business as a result of their very poor people skills.
