The annual health fair will be held Sept. 28 from 10 to 3 p.m. in the Chattanooga and Tennessee rooms of the UC.
The health fair is sponsored by the UTC PolyClinic, and serves as an eye-opener to students of UTC and people of the community to the health-care options available.
Melissa Guinn, coordinator of the prior and current health fairs, said it is meant to, "show what's here in the community and provide a good opportunity for students to look for organizations they could work with in the future."
Each vendor will have a booth with giveaways and information about their organizations. The 43 expected participants range from the Air Pollution Control Bureau to Planned Parenthood.
"I believe this fair would benefit me because I am a freshman and should know about the organizations that are available to me," Natasha Norwood, a Columbia, Tenn., freshman, said
Because of the array of vendors, students of different interests may find the health fair beneficial and helpful.
Students interested in a fitness center may find vendors such as The Rush, Sports Barn and Sisters Together appealing.
Students inclined toward medicine may benefit from talking to representatives from Pediatric Diagnostics Associates, Medical Solutions, North Park Eye Center and Erlanger Respiratory.
Donation information within the Chattanooga area is presented at the health fair with organizations such as the American Lung Association, National Ovarian Cancer Coalition and the Kidney Foundation.
The health fair is open to the public.
Students and members of the community are encouraged to attend the event and take advantage of the resources offered by the health-care leaders of Chattanooga.
