Sep. 19, 2006
061676 - Police were advised of a suspicious person hanging out around Cadek Hall. The suspect walked up to the Guerry Center and started shaking the doors in an attempt to gain entry. When the suspect spotted police, he started to walk back to his car, which was illegally parked. The suspect was detained and questioned.
Police were given permission by the suspect to search the vehicle. They located a black book bag with several pairs of gloves, several pry bars and screws. The tools in the suspect's car had fresh markings on them, similar to the markings on a vending machine in Cadek Hall. The suspect did not have any identification and his name was not on file. Police arrested and transported the suspect to Hamilton County Jail, where he was questioned more about his identity. Police then observed a tattoo on the suspect's stomach that had his name.
The suspect had previously been banned from campus for accounts of burglary, vandalism and other criminal activity. There were two active warrants for the suspect at the Hamilton County Jail. Policed charged the suspect with two counts of burglary, aggravated criminal trespassing, criminal impersonation, vandalism, theft under $500 and the possession of burglary tools.
Sept. 22, 2006
061698 - Officers responded to a theft at a University Street apartment. Upon arrival, the victim advised police that she had invited over a male that she had met off of the Web. The next day, she found that her computer was missing. She did not observe the male take it, but thought that he might have. The victim was unsure of the suspect's name. Police called the suspect's number, but was unable to reach anyone.
061701 - Officers responded to an accidental injury at 720 E. Fourth St. during the Staind concert. Upon arrival, the victim told police that while he was in the mosh pit, he was pushed by an unknown party that was "slam" dancing. The victim fell forward and heard his right knee pop. Officers got the victim an ice pack and the victim declined any other medical attention at the time. The victim just wanted the incident recorded and he sat for the rest of the concert.
