It was an exciting week in television as three returning shows kicked off their new seasons.
"America's Next Top Model" retuned this week with a two-hour premiere.
Tyra Banks and her crew are back to choose a winner between a dozen or so wannabe models after torturing them through heinous photo shoots and judging sessions. Who knew that the life of a professional clothes hanger could be so stressful?
The matriarch of the show, Tyra Banks, seems to have gone off the deep end this season.
She has plastered the house the models live in with tons of pictures of herself. I love Tyra, but I would find it disturbing to see her face while I eat breakfast or brush my teeth.
Tyra's acting ability also leaves something to be desired. The little skit before a photo shoot where she acted like a "diva" won't be winning an Oscar anytime soon unless "acting" consists of screaming and talking in a really bad French accent.
To the delight of the contestants, they got to rip the clothes off of a bunch of male models. Male models are fun to look at, but I'm not sure I would want to live with one. I imagine that I might be getting in fights with him about not using my eye liner or my hair mousse.
After stealing their clothes, the contestants pranced down a runway trying to act "rock n' roll." I didn't know that required them to pout seductively and flash their undergarments, but I always learn something new while watching the show.
On to a different show: The "Grey's Anatomy" highly anticipated season premiere was an emotional one. The show opens with Izzy on the floor, completely disabled by the unexpected death of her fiance, Denny. Your heart just breaks for her.
The show gets more action packed as it goes on. Plague, Catholic school girls and McDreamy. Oh my!
It was good to see a more human side of Bailey as she helped a man come to terms with the death of his wife. Maybe this is a turn around for "the Nazi," although I think I would miss Seattle Grace's resident queen of mean if she does turn nice.
